Lighting Designer

A lighting designer is responsible for creating the lighting scheme for theatre productions, concerts, television, film, and large events. Their main job is to design how lighting will be used to create mood, highlight action, and support the overall visual concept of the performance or event. This involves working closely with directors, set designers, and technical staff to ensure that lighting complements other visual elements. Lighting designers use both creative and technical skills, selecting lights, planning their placement, programming lighting sequences, and overseeing setup during rehearsals and live performances.
