Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Emergency Medical Technicians, often called EMTs, are crucial members of the ambulance service and wider NHS emergency response teams. They are responsible for providing immediate care to people who are sick or injured at the scene of an accident or medical emergency and during transport to hospital. EMTs assess patients, provide essential treatment such as CPR, wound care, and administering oxygen, and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals. The role requires quick decision-making, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. EMTs often work alongside paramedics and may progress to more advanced roles with additional training and experience.
